August 2013 – present
On 12th August 2013, Hull Music Limited took the keys for O’Rileys, which had been turned from a closed down snooker/pool hall into the beginnings of a live music and entertainment venue by its new owner, who found he did not have enough time to run the building and offered it out on a five year lease. The venue has undergone some quite large changes in its fairly short life as a venue including extra toilets, a new stage, PA systems, new bars and more.
After a year or so of finding its feet O’Rileys, has become the most regular live rock and metal venue in the city and also hosts various other styles of live entertainment from acoustic shows, dance events, tribute nights, private parties, boxing shows, video shoots, photo shoots, rehearsal space and more. Notable bands who have played the venue include The 68, Norma Jean, Black Tongue, Re-Animator, Lock & Key (UK hardcore), Closure In Moscow (Australia), Double Experience (Canada), We Are The Catalyst (Sweden) and many local bands including The Colour Line, Liberatae Mae, Dividium, Dead City Streets, Age Of Atlas and more. A versatile main room has seen half a dozen videos filmed there and promoters including the Hull Noise Collective, Trog Bar Tribute Nights, Grindhouse tours, Downward Spiral Rock & Metal nights, and others host events.
