Formed in 1994 in Hull, The Limes toured around Hull and Yorkshire.

They of course played the Adelphi many times with the likes of Spacemaid, Lithium Joe and King Rupert to name but a few, and also landed Adelphi support slots with Mansun and Catatonia.

The Limes also played a Battle Of The Bands competition in Scunthorpe where they finished in second place…not bad for a band that at that time had only been together for a matter of a few months and had just six songs!

The band went into the studio in 1995, recording a cassette demo at Fairview and playing plenty of gigs to support the tape, which sold a healthy amount. The band split in mid 1996 due to the classic “musical differences”, but with 20 songs under their belt by then – it wasn’t bad going!
