About

Moloko Plus formed from the fusion of two earlier bands – US Megachicks and The Dempseys. They had a lush 60s influenced sound, jangly guitars and shimmering harmonies. They had success in Hull and nationally between 1990 and 1991; their song “Can’t Wait Til Sunday” was placed in the top 10 of the Yamaha Band Explosion competition – out of 4000 entries. The band later shortened their name to Moloko.

Moloko Plus (as Moloko+) returned to the fore in 2016, firstly with a surprise appearance on the LP “Small Town Scenery: Lost Indie Gems 1985-1995″, a limited edition release put out by Record Collector magazine. This preceded a new single, Can’t Wait Til Sunday b/w Never Know What You’ve Got, a reboot of their second 1991 demo tape, released on the revered cult vinyl label Fruits De Mer in December 2016.

Their association with Fruits De Mer continued in 2018 with a super-limited lathe cut 7” re-release of “Bite The Hand” / “I Wonder”, released on an equally limited small run cassette by specialist label Eggs In Aspic.
