Artist: Ian Moor

Years Active:

1999 – 2006

Willerby’s Ian Moor shot to national fame in 1999 as the winner of TV’s Stars In Their Eyes, where he wowed British TV audiences with his rendition of Chris De Burgh’s “Lady In Red”. Later the same year, he went on to win the title of “Stars In Their Eyes Champion Of Champions” by competing against (and beating) the winners of the previous ten years. Ian won the title by a massive margin, winning over half of the total vote.

A major label deal with BMG followed, and the album “Naturally” hit the record shops in 2000. It spent two weeks in the official UK album chart, peaking at number 38. His TV success brought theatre and musical work for Moor, before voice problems led him to retire from singing in 2006. He would, however, go on to make a cameo appearance on the revived version of Stars In Their Eyes, in 2015.

He now lives in West Yorkshire.
